You’ve read it well, the 2023 program is now available! Once again, CAFÉ will offer you quality conferences given by speakers from all over the world and representing different fields of expertise. The event will take place on May 16-17 at the Montréal Convention Center.
Get your dose of creativity
This year’s conferences will cover several topics such as the creation of the creatures in Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities. The latest advances in AI and the RenderMan tool by Pixar, and how it is transforming their animation pipeline. The innovative visual effects and CG environments created on the series Star Wars: Andor. The creative process behind Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem! The 2D animation and the technical prowess behind the multiplane camera of the opening scene of Disenchanted. And much more! We will also host keynote conferences on the following productions: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, The Last of Us, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and The Bad Guys by DreamWorks Animation.
The 2023 program will also include several panels on various subjects such as the challenges and solutions of implementing USD into VFX and animation pipelines, how modern production techniques influence the creative process, how to build strong relationships through constructive feedback in VFX, and much more!
The 2nd edition of CAFÉ is back with 4 conference scenes instead of 2, which means even more exciting content to see! Start and end your day the right way by filling up on new knowledge from our keynote speakers on the Main Stage. And just like last year, we will have two stages featuring technical and artistic content. Finally, come learn from experts from the industry’s most influential companies on the Partner Stage.
CAFÉ is a lot more than conferences
New this year are the Living Spaces! These will feature a variety of unique activities as well as lounge areas for you to chat with other participants or work. Be sure to stop by one of our coffee counters for a delicious complimentary beverage before or between conferences. For students and recent graduates, there will be portfolio reviews and recruitment activities. Then end your day with peers over a drink at one of our Booth Crawls. The Living Spaces are accessible to all ticket holders.
