CAFÉ (Conference, Animation, FX, and Expertise) is an initiative of the Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) and a must-attend event for professionals in the visual effects and animation sectors. Designed to meet the needs and challenges specific to these rapidly evolving fields, this unique gathering brings the community together to exchange insights on the latest innovations, share knowledge, and explore new opportunities in a collaborative and engaging environment.
CAFÉ offers a wide range of activities, including in-depth technical conferences, enriching business meetings, specialized workshops, and exclusive evening events that provide unique networking opportunities. By highlighting Quebec talent, this QFTC initiative helps strengthen the province’s position on the international stage in the fields of visual effects and animation.
CAFÉ has a dual objective: to promote the excellence and creativity of local professionals while fostering innovation and collaboration. By offering a platform that celebrates the diversity and richness of creators’ work, CAFÉ enables participants to broaden their horizons, deepen their market understanding, and strengthen industry connections.
Founded in 2006, the Quebec Film and Television Council (QFTC) is a non-profit organization that aims to strengthen Quebec as a world-class, multi-platform production center. As an economic development agency, its mission is to stimulate investments in the province by leveraging competitive tax incentive programs, the expertise of its members, and the region’s architectural diversity.
The QFTC also leads the Quebec Audiovisual Cluster, a strategic group of industry players focused on enhancing collaboration and driving innovation. The Cluster acts as a catalyst, fostering the exchange of ideas and the launch of key projects to position Quebec advantageously in international markets. It was within this framework that the CAFÉ VFX initiative was created, to showcase Quebec’s talent in animation and visual effects while addressing challenges related to the labor shortage, technological advances, and global competition.
